Friends
The friend system of the network: a request, an answer, and a list. It lives on the proxy, so it works between players who are on different servers.
The commands
| Command | Permission | What it does |
|---|---|---|
/friends add <player> | appeltools.command.friends.add | Send a friend request. |
/friends accept <player> | appeltools.command.friends.accept | Accept a friend request. |
/friends deny <player> | appeltools.command.friends.deny | Refuse a friend request. |
/friends remove <player> | appeltools.command.friends.remove | Remove a friend. |
/friends list [page] | appeltools.command.friends.list | Your friends. |
/friends requests [page] | appeltools.command.friends.requests | The requests you sent. |
/friends pending [page] | appeltools.command.friends.requests | The requests you received. |
/friends notifications | appeltools.command.friends.notifications | Switch the friend notifications on or off. |
/friends toggle | appeltools.command.friends.toggle | Switch the friend requests on or off. |
/friends also answers to /friend and /f.
The player behind every command has to be online.
The flow
/friends add Steve— you get "Friend request sent to Steve".- Steve gets a message with a button: clicking it accepts the request. The command behind that button is
/friends accept <you>. - Steve runs
/friends accept you— you are told that he accepted, and so is he.
A request that is not answered stays open. /friends deny refuses it, and the other side is told that you refused.
/friends remove Steve takes a friend off your list. The other side is told that you removed him.
The two switches
They are separate, and each of them is its own command:
| Command | What it switches |
|---|---|
/friends toggle | The requests. With it off, nobody can send you a friend request — they are told that you have friend requests disabled. |
/friends notifications | The notifications. With it off, you no longer get the "somebody sent you a friend request" message. The request itself is still created. |
Both switches are remembered when you log out and back in.
The lists
All three lists show ten entries to a page.
| Command | What it shows |
|---|---|
/friends list | Your friends, with whether each of them is online or offline. |
/friends requests | The requests you sent. |
/friends pending | The requests you received. |
The notifications
When a friend of yours joins, leaves or switches to another server, you are told about it — unless you switched the friend notifications off.
TIP
There is no limit on the number of friends, no limit on the number of pending requests and no cooldown on sending a request. The friend requests do not expire either: a request that nobody answers stays open until it is accepted, denied or the account is removed.
