FAQ
The questions that come up most.
The commands do not show up
Two reasons:
- The module is off. Every feature sits behind a toggle in
config.yml. Switch the module on and restart, or use/atp modules enable <module>and/atv modules enable <module>. - You do not have the permission.
/atp helpand/atv helplist the commands you may actually use, so run those first.
"You do not have permission to execute this command"
The player is missing the permission node of that command. Every command has one, under appeltools.command. See the permissions.
The nodes of one category share a prefix, so you can hand out a whole group at once:
/lp group staff parent add appeltools.command.staff.* trueThe balance is different on another server
That is by design: the balance is per server. A player has one balance per game server. See the economy.
The homes are gone on another server
Also by design: a home belongs to the server it was saved on.
A ban does not work on the other server
The proxy and every backend have to point at the same database. Check the database section of the config.yml of both sides. When the databases differ, each side has its own punishments, its own balances and its own friends.
The plugin does not start
The log says what is wrong. The usual causes:
| In the log | What to do |
|---|---|
| A database error | Check the database section. The user needs the rights to create and to change the tables. |
| A missing class | The MySQL driver is not on the classpath of the backend — see the installation. |
| A missing plugin | The plugin needs LuckPerms; the backend also needs Vault and PremiumVanish. |
| A class version error | The server runs on an older Java than 25. |
The Discord bot does not come up
- The token:
discord.token. An empty token means the bot is not started at all. - The bot has to be in the guild. The bot only sees a channel when it is in the same guild.
- The channel ids: a channel with an empty id is switched off. A file that was made before the channels existed does not have them — add them by hand.
- The roles: an empty
discord.admin-rolesmeans nobody may run the slash commands. - The intents: the bot asks for every gateway intent, including the privileged ones. Without them the connection is closed with
4014 DISALLOWED_INTENTS.
See the Discord page.
How do I change what the plugin says?
In messages.yml, not in config.yml. The rules are messages as well: they live in the rules section of messages.yml. See the messages.
How do I change the icon or the MOTD of the server in the list?
That is the server-info module, and each part of it has its own switch:
yaml
modules:
server-info:
icon: true
motd: true
player-list-hover: true
version: trueThere is a map in my hotbar that I did not ask for
That is the map of the two-factor authentication. It is put there the first time a player with the appeltools.command.twofactor permission joins. The item that was in that slot is remembered and given back after the verification. See the two-factor.
The teleport requests do not arrive
- The cooldown is three seconds by default. A player who sends requests too fast is told how long he has to wait.
- A request expires after a minute by default.
- A player who switched his requests off is never asked.
/tpautoaccepts every request straight away — that is the switch for a player who wants no requests at all.
The staff mode does not make me invisible
The staff mode uses PremiumVanish to do that, and PremiumVanish has to be installed on the backend.
A player is stuck in the freeze
/freeze <player> again lifts it. A frozen player cannot move, use his inventory, break or place blocks, or run a command.
The messages of the plugin come out in the wrong language
The language is server.locale, and it is en or nl. It decides the words of the durations and the words of "on" and "off" — nothing else. The messages of the plugin itself are not translated: they are MiniMessage, and you change them in messages.yml. A change of the locale needs a restart.
How do I add a command of my own?
You cannot — the plugin does not load commands from a file. But you can give a player the permissions of the commands that are already there, and you can change what every command says.
