Parties

A party is a group of players that plays together: they share a chat, they warp to each other, and they have a leader who can manage them. It lives on the proxy, so it works between players who are on different servers.

The roles

RoleWhat they may do
The leaderEverything. There is one leader, and the party starts with you as its leader.
A moderatorInvite players, remove members, mute the party chat and warp the party.
A memberChat, leave and accept an invitation.

/party promote makes a member a moderator, /party demote takes it away again, and /party transfer hands the party over to somebody else — after that you are an ordinary member.

/party allinvite lets every member invite other players, not only the leader and the moderators.

The flow

  1. /party invite Steve — you get "You invited Steve to the party!".
  2. Steve gets a message with a button: clicking it accepts the invitation.
  3. Steve runs /party accept you — you are both told that the party is formed.

An invitation that nobody answers expires after five minutes.

The party chat

/party chat <message> writes to the members of your party only.

/pchat <message> (alias /pc) does the same and needs no permission. It works whether or not you have switched to the party channel.

/party mute switches the party chat off for the ordinary members — the leader, the moderators and the staff can still write. It is a switch for the whole party, not for one member.

/party warp

/party warp brings every other member of the party to the server you are on. It needs you to be the leader or a moderator, and it needs you to be actually on a server.

You are not moved yourself — the party comes to you.

The admin commands

The three /party admin commands work on parties that you are not a member of, so they are for the staff.

  • /party admin list shows the parties that are open on the proxy.
  • /party admin join <party> <player> puts a player into a party without an invitation.
  • /party admin disband <party> disbands a party; every member is told about it.

The argument is the id of the party, a long string of letters and digits. The list command shows it.

WARNING

The parties live in the memory of the proxy. A restart of the proxy clears every party — the members have to invite each other again.

TIP

There is no limit on the size of a party.
